Astea Alliance offers a rich set of interface options for using BizTalk® as an enterprise integration engine. Not only will the BizTalk interface leverage your existing infrastructure, it lowers your total cost of ownership. BizTalk’s versatility enables support of a variety of communication adapters and Astea Alliance out-of-the-box can use the SOAP, MSMQ, and File adapters for inbound and outbound data transfer.

Using Microsoft’s BizTalk Interface with Astea Alliance MSMQ interface

The Astea Alliance native MSMQ (Microsoft Message Queue) interface may be used for transfers of discrete transaction traffic and the Astea Alliance Export and Import Engines facilitate batch mode data transfers using an XML file protocol. Both of these methods use the same business component XSD schema files provided with a standard Astea Alliance installation.

In addition to MSMQ messaging and XML file protocol, Astea Alliance offers a rich public XML web service API. This native API may be used as a foundation to create a layer of strongly typed XML web services optimized for any particular interface project using the pure BizTalk orchestration environment. These ‘Extension’ API services encapsulate business components into a hierarchical document model.

API services are available as part of Astea Professional services and are designed to both simplify and shorten interface implementation activity. This approach also reduces the interface maintenance burden, and ultimately lowers the total cost of ownership, by further insulating the BizTalk interface from changes within Astea Alliance. System integration is not as difficult as it once was as vendors, such as Astea, embrace modern industry standards and powerful integration tools.
