Solution Developer
Summary:
This is a newly created position to support our increasing business needs. Ability to speak/write Japanese is highly desirable. A Minimum of 2 - 3 years application software experience is required.
The primary function of this job is to provide superior maintenance support (programming) to Astea International customers to resolve reported software issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform the following duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision utilizing defined procedures and policies:
- Research complex reported problems and develop solutions for customer issues in a timely manner
- Carry out design, implementation and maintenance programming activities that require research and analysis
- Gather details to perform necessary tests and analyses
- Conduct unit and integration testing
- Update calls and document procedures used to resolve problems
- Continuous self-development through expanded product knowledge, mastering newly implemented technology and staying abreast of the latest relevant technologies
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Astea offerings and obtain industry domain knowledge
- Demonstrated track record in attaining and/or exceeding defined goals in a fast paced technology environment
- Meet deadlines, prioritize and handle multiple tasks while working independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to communicate (written and verbal) with employees, management and team members in a concise and professional manner
- Nominal travel may be required
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Related Bachelor's degree (BS) from a four-year college or university in business, software engineering or computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 - 3 years application software experience
- Basic knowledge of software development methodologies, design and implementation.
- Good analytical and design skills at single-product/single-environment level.
- Ability to understand how business and technical issues may impact customer projects
- Outstanding written and verbal communication and customer service skills
- Thorough knowledge of VB, VB.NET, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, C#, C++, Visual Studio.net experience, and SQL Server 2000 skills. *Familiarity with COM, PowerBuilder, Business Objects Reporting and Oracle are helpful
