Job Title: Business Development Representative - Maidenhead (UK) - Competitive salary and benefits

Position Summary: Astea is seeking an energetic and ambitious individual to join our team as a Business Development Representative. Their key responsibility will be to generate qualified leads and set meetings for the sales team to close. Success in this role requires a hunter who can spend significant time on the phone cultivating and building relationships with prospects, following up on leads generated through marketing programs, as well as independent prospecting and other lead generation strategies. Success will be measured by the number of qualified sales opportunities created.

Reports to:  VP, Global Marketing

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform outbound prospecting sales activities such as cold calling, lead follow-ups, and opportunity qualifications via telephone, email, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Build and cultivate prospect relationships by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications in order to move opportunities to a sales ready opportunity.
  • Maintain call volume of 40 - 60 calls per day and 5-7 connects with decision makers to qualify target leads and create pipeline for sales team.
  • Ability to balance inbound, outbound, communications, and campaign activity.
  • Conduct a needs analysis and determine prospects pain points to determine how Astea’s solution will meet their needs.
  • Work hand-in-hand with sales executives to seamlessly transition accounts to qualified opportunities.
  • Identify relevant target companies and contacts (able to execute effective account exploration and mining tactics). Searching for new leads through Internet, social media monitoring, subscriptions, new databases, etc.
  • Meticulously maintain and manage all information in MS Dynamics CRM, ensuring all communication activities are entered into the system, and information is up to date and accurate.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales and Marketing to develop and grow the pipeline to meet revenue goals.


  • 2 years’ experience with B2B lead generation development / telemarketing experience/inside sales.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong ability to understand technology.
  • Self-starter with the ability to think out of the box.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with an inherent ability to manage multiple parallel processes and willingness to contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to reach prospects and create compelling conversations with executive-level decision makers.
  • Ability to stay focused and current on appropriate issues, products and services throughout Astea, and have the ability to meet the challenges of a dynamic environment.
  • Solid understanding of social media tools and vehicles including LinkedIn, Twitter, Blogs and monitoring tools.
  • Possess a strong desire to succeed - be tenacious, persistent and goal oriented.
  • Results-oriented individual who can work in a team environment, as well as make independent decisions.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge including Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with CRM & Marketing Automation Software preferred, but not required.
  • Must live in Maidenhead (UK) or within a 40-mile radius.
